High 5 Bread Town Visit
30 April 2005
The Malaysian Institute of
Management's Alumni (MIM Alumni) organised a visit to the world's first High 5 Bread Town
- The Legacy of Bread, for its members on Saturday, 30 April 2005. Present at the visit
were MIM's CEO, Mr S L Foo, MIM Alumni Vice President, Ms Patricia Leong, MIM alumni
members, and staff members of MIM.
Ms Patricia Leong briefly welcomed the group before inviting YBhg Dato' Jackson Tan, Group
Managing Director of Silver Bird Group Bhd, to present his talk. With the aid of a slide
presentation, Dato' Jackson Tan spoke on the background and how Silver Bird grew from its
humble beginnings three decades ago until now, through effective brand management. |

A very fascinating tour of the
bread town commenced soon after, led by Dato' Jackson Tan and a member of his staff. The
group went through a number of galleries that showcased interesting facts on bread-making.
The history of bread - from the Egyptians' era to modern times - was told in colourful
murals and displays that gave the group a lively interactive experience. An 880 feet
skywalk allowed MIM Alumni members to enjoy an overview of the finer points of
bread-making using state-of-the-art technology. Towards
the end of the tour, refreshments were served. MIM Alumni members ended up buying a great
variety of Silver Bird products from the souvenir shop before leaving the bread town,
concluding an unforgettable visit. |
