NATIONAL ANNUAL
CORPORATE REPORT AWARDS |
The National Annual Corporate Report Awards (NACRA) is Malaysia's most
esteemed award in recognition of excellence in annual corporate reporting. Organised
annually with the joint commitment of the four organising bodies - Bursa Malaysia Berhad,
Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) &
The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). NACRA has become the
benchmark for excellence in corporate reporting.
NACRA is aimed at promoting greater and more effective communication of financial and
business information through the publication of timely, informative, factual and
reader-friendly annual reports.
Though the criteria for NACRA have been enhanced this year, the objectives remains the
same to recognise and highlight the importance of good financial reporting and therefore
the Committee of NACRA 2008 has identified a new theme for NACRA, "Towards
Accountability and Excellence".
NACRA
comprises 5 categories of Awards:
- Overall Excellence
Awards
- Industry Excellence
Awards
- Corporate Social
Responsibility Awards
- Presentation Awards
- Special Award for
Non-Listed Organisations
All companies listed on Bursa Malaysia automatically qualify for the
competition. Of these, only those annual reports that meet the preliminary screening
criteria will qualify for detailed adjudication.
Non-listed organisations, public sector and other Malaysian organisations are required to
submit an entry to participate in NACRA 2008. Participation is free.
Closing
date for submission of entries is 31 July 2008.
NACRA
2008 AWARD PRESENTATION NITE
The winners of NACRA 2008 will be announced at a dinner presentation
ceremony, which will be held on Wednesday evening, November 19, 2008 at the
Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. YB Datuk Shahrir bin Abdul Samad, Minister of
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has been invited to officiate at the function.
