MIM CSR Survey 2009
(MIM Corporate Social Responsibility Survey 2009)

Nowadays, CSR is getting more and more important for the economic sector, companies and organisations in creating a harmonious business environment for them to thrive in and ensuring business sustainability in the long term.

Today's organisations are closely intertwined in the society that they operate in and it is with the support of the community that organisations would be able to achieve a positive environment of collaboration and mutual understanding.

Some of the areas covered by this survey include:
  • What does CSR means to our Malaysian organisations?
  • How are our organisations practising CSR?
  • Do organisations need support or training programmes to assist them in implementing their CSR initiatives?
  • What is the impetus for organisations undertaking CSR projects?

MIM in partnership with Konrad Adenaeur Stiftung (KAS) conducted the survey in July-August 2009 and the findings were presented at the CSR & Sustainability Summit at Hotel Maya, Kuala Lumpur on 17 September 2009.

This survey and the findings have resulted in MIM launching the MIM-ARM CSR Training Programmes at the presentation of the survey findings. These programmes were developed together with MIM's collaboration partner, the Academy of Responsibility Management Sdn Bhd (ARM) and in partnership with KAS. The programmes are aimed at providing training and development in CSR knowledge, skills and competencies.

We thank the 110 organisations that had responded to the survey! And look forward to the participation of all organisations in the CSR Training Programmes.

Regards,

Dr Wilson Tay,
CEO MIM & the MIM CSR Survey 2009 Project Team
