The MIM-Public Bank "Manager of the Year Award" aims to identify and recognise Malaysia's finest management practitioners with outstanding management acumen in their respective fields. The MIM-Public Bank "Manager of the Year Award" is an evolution of the former MIM Young Manager of the Year Award, which spanned from 1994 until 1997.

The MIM-Public Bank "Manager of the Year Award" is divided into three categories - the "Young Manager of the Year" for entrants from the age group of 25 - 35, `Manager of the Year' for the age group of 36 - 45 years old and `Senior Manager of the Year' for entrants aged 46 - 60. This contest is opened to all managers from Bursa Malaysia - Listed companies and (MNC) Multinational Corporations of any industry. Managers from PN4 companies and section 176 companies are not eligible to participate.

Entrants are required to undergo stringent selection, qualifying and judging procedures. They will be judged on their overall management leadership attributes using work competency profiling tools such as a quiz, case study and interview. This stringent protocol will ensure that winners in each of the three categories will be an exemplary management leader, an all rounder practitioner who befits the honour of representing Malaysia's best management practice. The panel judges is consist of experienced management leaders possessing and professing excellent management leadership practice.

The MIM and Public Bank embarked on this five-year project to recognise and acknowledge dynamic managers and management leaders who are the unsung heroes who continue to build Malaysian industries. This joint effort rewards outstanding individuals, who are management leaders and contribute to their respective companies in terms of excellent management, productivity and growth.

The MIM-Public Bank "Manager of the Year Award" will enhance Malaysia's stance as a premier developing country with exceptional management standards and capabilities as we strive towards promoting and achieving higher levels of management in our quest of "Vision 2020".
