Greetings from MIM!

MIM started the year with an array of interesting sessions for the MIM Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Talks which is held twice a month. The talks covered exciting topics on achieving peak performance, coaching for performance, managing customers' wants and needs, personal finances management during downturn, risk and health management among others.

On 13 February, MIM and Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB) launched the MIM-PSMB SME Managers Development Programme. This programme was attended by 23 SMEs managers from various industry backgrounds. The programme is aimed at training SME managers to have a holistic view of various important management concept and practices.

In end February, the MIM Appreciation Nite 2009, themed "A Gathering of Global Citizen" was held in Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur on 23 February where MIM hosted 200 guests. The event was held to recognise MIM's partners, clients, and MIM-Certified Professional Trainers (MIM-CPTs) for their continued contribution and support to the Institute.

MIM is committed to the continuous improvement in knowledge and skills and encourages more SMEs to retrain and upgrade their managers and employees with skills in accordance to their business needs. SMIDEC Skills Upgrading Programmes for SMEs allow eligible SMEs to pay 20% only to attend a wide range of MIM programmes approved by SMIDEC.

For management training and development, the 2009 MIM Training Directory offers a wide array of management leadership development programmes. New programmes have been introduced to cater to the increasingly varied needs of today's managers, executives and non-executives.
