About 150 senior officials and police academy officers of the Polis DiRaja Malaysia and Maktab PDRM attended a session by Dr Wilson Tay, CEO MIM on "Human Capital & Talent Management Strategy & Development Programme" which was held at Maktab PDRM in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

The presentation was a knowledge sharing and exchange session between delegates of Maktab PDRM and PDRM on key concerns, trends and factors influencing present and future workforce, and the importance of a human capital and talent management strategy and development programme in maintaining a professional and achievement-oriented Malaysian workforce.

According to Datuk Benjamin bin Hj Hasbie, PDRM KL Camp Commandant, the College aims to be a centre of research, excellence and quality assurance, and the session was appropriate as Malaysia is moving towards an era of performance excellence with an urgent need for knowledge workers of high capabilities and capacity.

He further remarked that there is a lot of knowledge sharing that MIM and PDRM can effect together as two service organisations, particularly with MIM's expertise of over 40 years in management development and training.

"If you want to build a sustainable and profitable business, ask yourself, who will be your key front line team in 5, 10 or 15 years from now?" This was one of the questions posed by Dr Wilson to the delegates. The session stressed on the importance of human capital particularly the identification and engagement of talents in the process of talent identification, selection, development, retention and succession planning to build an effective and efficient workforce.
