On 18 January 2008, Dr. Wilson Tay, CEO of MIM delivered a four-hour talk on Winning with Blue Ocean Strategy at the Texchem Managers' Conference organised by Texchem Resources Bhd at Equatorial Hotel, Penang.
About 125 participants made up of mainly managers and senior managers of Texchem Group of Companies around Asia region attended the event.
Dr. Wilson started the presentation by emphasising on the urgency for organisations to look beyond their businesses to find the hidden innovation opportunities in order for them to move from the red ocean, which comprises many growing competitions into the blue ocean, with the opportunity to seek the untapped and uncontested market.
Dr. Wilson's presentation touched on the `New Business of Paradigms' where there is a compelling need for businesses to evolve and survive in this ever-changing business environment.
Dr. Wilson also covered the six principles of formulating and executing Blue Ocean Strategy with relevant examples in order to present a workable innovation strategy for organisations to remain competitive by differentiating themselves from others.
