MIM is the ICDL Approved Test Centre to conduct assessment for ICDL certification.
This programme is designed to help people both at work and at home. It confirms to potential employers that the person has a recognised, relevant and up-todate qualification. For those new to computers, ICDL will provide you with a solid foundation of computer skills helping you to competently and confidently use computers.

Objectives

  • Raise the level of IT knowledge and competency of all computer users;
  • Improve productivity at work;
  • Reduce IT support costs;
  • Enable employers to invest more efficiently in IT; and
  • Ensure that best practice and quality issues are understood and implemented.

Delivery Methodology
Training programmes are available in many different forms from face-to-face workshop to e-learning, and there is sufficient flexibility to suit the needs and lifestyles of most candidates.

  • Anyone who needs to demonstrate to an international standard that they are fully competent in the use of a personal computer and common computer applications and that they know the essential concepts of Information Technology

Programme Modules

Modules Module Title
1 Basic Concepts of Information Technology.
The physical make-up of PC and concepts such as data storage, memory and viruses
2 Using the Computer and Managing Files.
The fundamental functions of a personal computer and its operating system
3 Word Processing.
Creating, formatting and finishing a word processing document, and using more advanced word processing features
4 Spreadsheets.
Developing, formatting and using a spreadsheet; using basic formulas and functions to perform standard mathematical and logical functions
5 Database.
Designing and planning a simple database using a standard database package; retrieving information from an existing database
6 Presentation.
Creating, formatting and preparing presentations using graphics and charts and various slide show effects
7 Information and Communication.
Using a Web browser application and available search engine tools to accomplish Web search tasks; using Email software to send, receive and organise messages

Duration
The tests may be taken in any order at the candidate's own pace. These tests may even be taken all at once, but they must be completed within 3 years from the initial registration.

*Recommended learning materials licensed assessment tools worth more than RM50 will be given to each participant of the programme.


Professional Programme / Certification
MIM International Computer Driving License (MIM ICDL™)
A certificate will be awarded to candidates who have passed all seven modules. A start certificate will be awarded to those who have passed the first four modules.
