A SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

There are some people who have worked hard throughout their career looking forward to retirement as a time to indulge themselves in activities that they have missed out in their earlier adult life. Then, there are those who dread retirement because they will have too much time on their hands and do not know what to do. Senior citizens only need to look and they will discover the countless areas that they can actively contribute and make a difference. Although no longer gainfully employed, they should continue to live life to the fullest rather than merely existing, making life challenging while setting fresh priorities and goals. Psychological researches have shown that specific forms of human intelligence actually increase, as people grow older.
The MIM-RAMLEA hopes to revive this "crystallised intelligence" and concept of "mutual dependence" where participants explore the dynamics between "giving" and "receiving", between being needed and being needy. The 4-day fully residential programme exposes participants to talks, readings, discussions, visitations and reflections that will help you rediscover yourself and the society around you. You will find purpose and direction, participate in activities as well as build rewarding relationships. From these enriched experiences, you will play a more active role in community development programmes putting your wealth of knowledge and experience to good use while continuing to create value in society in the golden years of your life.
