Kuala Lumpur - The Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) organised the MIM-Khind Human Capital Management (HCM) Forum 2008-"Challenges in Creating a Conducive Environment for Talent Retention" at Management House, Kuala Lumpur on 4 November 2008.
The HCM Forum was organised to serve as an avenue for the dissemination of ideas and a platform for industry practitioners to network and to keep up on the latest developments in management development and training. The forum also provided tools and techniques that can be implemented in retaining talented employees, and how a conducive environment can be created to meet the demands and needs of
these employees.
The speakers invited for the forum were Mr Cheng Ping Keat, Group Chief Executive Officer, Khind and Puan Suriahni, Human Resource Development, DiGi, who shared with the audience the best of practices of Khind and DiGi in developing, retaining and rewarding performance. The concurrent speakers were Dr Wilson Tay, CEO of MIM, Mr Kevin Tan, and Pn Norani Ahmad who are MIM
Certified Professional Trainers; they presented on topics Effective Training Needs Analysis, Harrison Assessment Profiling on Talent Management and Talent Management for Succession Planning respectively.
"In today's organisations where talents are mobile and good talents are hard to come by, organisations are committed to strategically review their human capital management and development plans in order to ensure their people grow together with the organisation." said by Dr Wilson in his welcome address.
The forum also witnessed the launching of "Khind - Have you heard of it?" by YBhg Jen Tan Sri Zain Hashim (b). Published by MIM, the book will form part of MIM's reading materials for MIM business entrepreneurship programme and other courses.
More than 150 attendees gathered at the forum. These included CEOs, MDs, HR Managers and Practitioner from various companies, both large and small.
