LOCAL companies are moving in the right direction in attracting the right top talent and assessing board performance, according to a survey.

The Malaysian Top Management Rewards study revealed that the Malaysian companies' practices are not far behind other countries, and in some areas, are ahead.

The study, jointly conducted by Watson Wyatt and Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), started in September last year.

Watson Wyatt Malaysia managing director Danny L. Quant said the study found 72 per cent of Malaysian companies surveyed have a formal process for assessing board performance.

Speaking to reporters in Kuala Lumpur after announcing findings of the survey, he said this is ahead of some countries.
