MIM Appreciation Nite 2009

Kuala Lumpur - The Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) hosted over 200 guests at the "MIM Appreciation Nite 2009", held at Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 24 February 2009. The theme for the evening was "A Gathering of Global Citizens" with most of the guests dressed in colorful ethic and international costumes. The evening started with a special performance by the MIM staff
followed by a spread of scrumptious food and entertainment.
"Tonight we take time to recognise and thank our clients and partners for their invaluable support throughout last year. Our sincere thanks go to all of you - our clients, business associates, sponsors, valued partners, members of the media, trainer-facilitators, friends, and members of the MIM General Council. 2009," said YABhg Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar, President of MIM in his welcome address
He further added that MIM has planned an array of exciting events and activities for 2009, including the MIM-Public Bank `Manager of the Year Award', the MIM-Ricoh National Management Game, the Tunku Abdul Rahman Lecture as well as three corporate social responsibility programmes - MIM-TRYLA, MIM-THORA and MIM-RAMLEA and many more.
The evening also saw the giving out of Client Appreciation Awards to MIM's most supportive clients which include Malayan Banking Berhad and IT-365 Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Platinum Award), SIRIM Berhad and Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation Sdn Bhd (Gold Award) and Agrobank, Hei-Tech Padu Berhad, Chemical Company of Malaysia, Samling Strategic Corporation Sdn Bhd, Panasonic Electronics Devices (M) Sdn
Bhd, Oriental Capital Assurance Berhad and TT dotCom Sdn Bhd (Silver Award).
Recognition awards were presented to the sponsors and partners of the Institute for their contributions - Genting Berhad, Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Khind Holdings Berhad, Malaysian Productivity Corporation, MPH Bookstores Sdn Bhd and Public Bank Berhad.
Two of MIM's General Council members, YBhg Tan Sri Dato' (Dr) Ramon V Navaratnam and Mr Cheng Ping Keat were recognised for contributing to the MIM Management Research Fund through the publication of their manuscript titled "Quo Vadis, Malaysia?" and "Khind - Have you heard of it?" respectively. All proceeds from the sale of the books were channelled to the Management Research Fund.
The MIM Training Excellence Award was presented to 15 MIM trainer-facilitators who produced excellent ratings in participant evaluation of training courses through their consistent performance and commitment in the delivery of the programmes.
The event culminated with the presentation of cheques by Ricoh (M) Sdn Bhd and Masterskill (M) Sdn Bhd to YABhg Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar, President of MIM for sponsorship of the MIM-Ricoh National Management Game and the MIM-Masterskill Youth Leadership Development Programme respectively.
The Institute thanked all guests for their presence that evening and looks forward to their continued support in 2009 to help the Institute further develop Malaysian human capital to meet the needs of a competitive working global environment and promote management leadership excellence in Malaysia.
