Kuala Lumpur, 9 April 2009 - Malaysian Intellect Development Foundation (MIDF) contributed a cash sponsorship of RM118,000 to the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) for the MIM-Masterskill Youth Leadership Development Programme 2009 (MIM-TRYLA). An MoU was signed between Dr. Wilson Tay, CEO of MIM and En Mohd Nasri Mohd Nordin,

The MIM-TRYLA is specifically designed to develop young Malaysian men and women between the ages of 21 and 35, who have leadership potential and to prepare them for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead of the nation as it aspires to attain Vision 2020. The programme develops qualities of leadership skills and managerial talent among the youth of the nation. The MIM-TRYLA (Tun Razak
Youth Leadership Award) is named after the late Tun Abdul Razak, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia because of his profound interest in the youths of Malaysia.
This 7 day fully residential programme aspires to make the participants tolerant and appreciative of people of diverse backgrounds in a series of outdoor activities, lively and thought-provoking classroom discussions, and community services. At the end of the programme, the participants of the programme will renew themselves and redirect their lives to lead a more balanced life with a
responsibility to setting examples and playing an active role towards creating a society imbued with the core human values of caring, respect, integrity and compassion.
MIM has organised the MIM-TRYLA for 16 years as a corporate social responsibility to the community of youth. The programme has benefited many Malaysians who have participated and produced many leaders of the country. One such leader is YBhg Dato' Edmund who was TRYLAN of the YEAR 2000 when he participated in the programme.
MIDF's one year sponsorship for the MIM-TRYLA is supported by MASTERSKILL Education Group Berhad (MEGB) as part of MEGB and MIDF Joint CSR project for the development of young leaders and entrepreneurs in the country.
The collaboration between MIM and the MIDF aims to develop more capable young Malaysian leaders who can contribute towards the betterment of the society. The two organisations share the vision that there will be TRYLANs amongst the intelligentia and leaders of the country.
