Application for MIM-TRYLA is now open. MIM invites young Malaysian men and women between the ages of 21 and 35, who have leadership potential to send in your application. Applications close on Saturday, 23 May 2009. A selection interview will be held on Thursday, 28 May 2009. This year, 50 youths will be selected into the programme.

The MIM-Masterskill Youth Leadership Development Programme (MIM-TRYLA), a 7 days 6 nights fully residential programme, is specially designed to bring out the leader in the youth by exposing the participants to a whole array of leadership skills and management development, pitting them with youth of different gender, ethnic origin and religious background. This programme aspires to make the participants tolerant and appreciative of people of diverse backgrounds through sessions by invited speakers, outdoor teambuilding activities, strategy games, leadership exercises, project management planning and management discussions.

Upon completion of the programme, the participants are expected to be strongly aware of the existence of the environment and issues of leadership, and the importance of being able to deal with the changing environment in leadership demands and the challenging workplace in terms of managerial expectations. As a result of their common experiences shared throughout and beyond the programme, the participants are expected to become a coherent group with a strong commitment towards ethical values and society, ready to take on the challenges of leadership and play an active role in helping Malaysia attain Vision 2020. The MIM-TRYLA (Tun Razak Youth Leadership Award) is named after the late Tun Abdul Razak, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia because of his profound interest in the youths of Malaysia.

The MIM-TRYLA is part of MIM's effort to give back to society. The programme is made possible with the generous sponsorship from the Malaysian Intellect Development Foundation. Also featured as part of MIM's corporate social responsibility programmes are two other programmes: MIM Managers' Renewal Programme for mid career managers (MIM-THORA) and MIM Life Enrichment Programme for retiring managers (MIM-RAMLEA).
