"Riding the Tides of Economic Uncertainty with Value-Based Management"

KUALA LUMPUR - The Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) in partnership with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Germany organised the MIM-KAS Economic Discourse at the Management House, Kuala Lumpur on 12 May 2009.
The discourse, themed "Riding the Tides of Economic Uncertainty with Value-Based Management" featured a distinguished panel of speakers who are leaders from different areas in the industries. They were Dato' Mohamed Iqbal Rawther, Fellow of MIM, Dato Ghazali bin Dato Yusof, the President of the Malaysian Council for Rehabilitation and Chairman of Nusanthara Technologies Sdn Bhd and Dr.
Terence Gomez, Associate Professor of Political Economy at the Faculty of Economics & Administration, University of Malaya. The discourse was moderated by Datuk Dr. Paddy Bowie, Fellow of MIM.
The panel speakers discussed and deliberated on the ways, options and problems concerning the economy today while understanding the adaptation of values such as integrity, fair play, work ethics and professionalism in an organisation that would help carry a company to greater heights.
The MIM-KAS Economic Discourse aimed at offering a common platform for members of the management fraternity to discuss, deliberate and debate on current issues affecting the country.
More than 100 participants attended the discourse which included CEOs, Managing Directors, General Managers, Entrepreneurs and members of senior management responsible for corporate governance. Also present were Tun Mohamed Hanif Omar, President of the Malaysian Institute of Management and Dr. Thomas Knirsch, Representative to KAS.
