This is a book of records, literally, in more ways than one.
It attempts to offer an economically expansive record of the events that have lined the
four-decade landscape of the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), and was completed in
record time.
More than a flavourful chronicle for posterity, Management in Malaysia: The Story of
the Malaysian Institute of Management will mean different things to different readers.
The public will gain some insights into the beginning of our national management
organisation; how it survived, thrived and evolved over 40 years amid the complex
interplay of human factors and environmental variables, to become the entity that is
today.
Those who have been or associated with MIM - whether as members, partners or employees -
will be able to identify themselves directly with many of the milestones described, at
varying personal levels in varying degrees of intensity. For them, The Story of MIM
is more than just another item on the shelf; it is also a testament of self, whose
interpretation is best known to that oneself alone. |
