"Dato' Seri, on behalf of the Malaysian Institute of Management, we warmly welcome you as part of the extended family of the Institute. Your support and input will be invaluable to the Institute."
Ladies and Gentlemen
It is a great honour and privilege to be asked to say a few words of thanks to all of you, who are gathered here tonight.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
We are especially grateful to Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Prime Minister of Malaysia for graciously accepting the Honorary Fellowship of the Institute, for otherwise tonight's event would not have taken place. We are thankful that Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Yang Amat Berhormat Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak could spare their valuable
time to be with us, knowing their many commitments.

It would be remiss if I did not
also thank a few of the people that have made this event such a success.
Our thanks to all the honourable Ministers, distinguished Ambassadors and high ranking
government officials, who have come to grace the occasion.
To the many strong supporters of the Institute who have also subscribed to the dinner and
I hope that they will forgive me for not mentioning them individually as some of them feel
that they do not want to be embarrassed for their good deed. |
To the staff members of the Prime Ministers' Department, for their kind assistance, and guidance even whilst preparations were being made for this occasion.
The Institute wishes to extend a special word of appreciation to Malaysia Airlines. For sponsoring the publication of the first issue of our Malaysian Management Review with a new look, which by now has been presented to all of you here this evening. This inaugural issue with the new look comprises 16 selected speeches made by our Prime Minister. I hope you will all enjoy reading the contents of
this issue. Issues of this publication will be placed on MAS aircrafts for their passengers to read, so that the world will have a much greater appreciation of the thoughts of our dynamic and pragmatic Prime Minister.
My personal thanks to the organising committee and staff, for their devotion, dedication and who had put in a lot of hard work to organise this event, and especially to Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Haji Mohammed Hanif, our President, who has been a tower of strength, in supporting the work of the committee.
With your permission, may I ask them to stand and be acknowledged. They are Dato' Ng Tieh Chuan, Puan Faridah Hashim, Encik Darul Abdullah and the staff headed by the CEO, Mr S L Foo, Ms Esther Cheim, Ms Seow Mei Ling, Puan Zunita Zubir and Ms Siew Su Chuen.
My thanks also to Mr Loh Khay Hooi, the artist, who translated my design of the Institute's present, and produced such a beautiful copper tooled masterpiece.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Thank you - to everyone of you present for participating in this occasion to join us in
honouring our Prime Minister.
Last but not least, we would like to thank Shangri-La Hotel for the beautiful décor and
the presentation of this sumptuous dinner. |
As the organising chairman I apologise that as a result of overwhelming response the Institute regrets that we had to turn away many requests to attend this dinner due to space constraint.
May I also apologise to anyone that I inadvertently have not thanked, who had in one way or another assisted in making tonight's event such a success.
Good night.
