It is towards this gap of social development that MIM conceived and initiated the Tun Hussein Onn Renewal Awards, in short the THORA programme seven years ago targeting at the self renewal of mid career individuals in the mid thirties to fifties so that they will soul search themselves and society and see the meaning of life, what went wrong in society, the part they play in society and decide how they can redirect their lives to bring about a society that is just, equitable, ethical and humane besides being progressive.

OBJECTIVES

The objects of the Alumni are: To foster social and fraternal association among all graduates of THORA. To maintain and enhance civic consciousness and integrity amongst fellow Malaysians generally and citizens of Corporate Malaysia specifically. To promote awareness of and the pursuance of a higher quality of human life in the midst of economic development. To uphold the right of every individual in Malaysia society to live with dignity. To promote inter-racial, inter-cultural and inter-religious harmony amongst Malaysians. To promote continuing networking by organizing activities, programmes, seminars, etc among members. To promote and represent its Members in organized activities with other interest groups/organizations, NGO's or alumni having similar objects.

To establish, support and/or aid in granting scholarships, study loans, bursaries, prizes for such purposes as the Alumni may think fit; and to contribute or make donations to any charitable or benevolent objects for the public at large whether in Malaysia or elsewhere. To prescribe, levy upon and collect from members, participation fees and other charges as may be decided by the Executive Committee in relation to any organized activity or programme of the Alumni or solicit or accept scholarships, gifts, donations and legacies from any person, institution or corporation. To do each and everything that is necessary, suitable, or proper for the accomplishment of any of the objects herein enumerated, or which shall at any time appear incidetal, conducive or expedient for the protection or benefit of the Alumni.

creating projects to further strengthen the cause of THORAN by: Promoting National Unity at all levels Proactive in surrounding of our national concerns Working on our objectives and our wish lists To practise the "Golden Rules" To maximize our Thorans (Trainers) resources to enhance the Y.E.S. program with THORAN VALUES to the young students.	To set up a permanent Foundation to carry out educare for the THORA programmes and new programmes relevant to Intergrity,Nation Building, Unity and Harmony. To set up a Think Tank and to create a permanent Foundation in assisting and showing support for: Improve & coordinate management of handicap homes Other similar groups or NGO Emergency relief
