The NMG is a premier business simulation competition organised by the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM), designed to test and develop participants’ strategic thinking, leadership and decision-making skills through a real-world business simulation.
The competition is open to emerging leader, corporate executive or driven entrepreneur across Malaysia. Each team typically comprises 3 members.
Participants will develop hands-on skills in business strategy, financial management, marketing, operations, teamwork, critical thinking and leadership.
The duration may vary by year, but generally, the game runs for several weeks—starting with orientation and preliminary rounds, followed by semi-finals and a grand final.

Teams will compete for cash prizes, an international trip to Macau & China, a champion’s trophy and nationwide recognition.

Each team will manage a simulated company through three progressively challenging rounds, simulating real-world business dynamics. Participants must analyse data, evaluate trade-offs and make strategic decisions across key functions such as marketing, operations, finance, and human resources. The ultimate objective is to grow shareholder funds and outperform other teams, all within a competitive, time-sensitive environment that mirrors real executive decision-making.
Teams will compete for cash prizes, an international trip to Macau & China, a champion’s trophy, and nationwide recognition. All participants will also receive a certificate of attendance from MIM to mark their achievement.
